Beautiful Market Towns & the City of Newcastle 
The traditional Market Towns of Alnwick, Hexham, Berwick, Haltwhistle and Morpeth offer a traditional base steeped in History and character. The nearby City of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne is within striking distance of all Northumberland's attractions.
The most popular tourist Towns in Northumberland are without a doubt Hexham, Alnwick and Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Hexham, in the South of the County, was voted Britain's favourite Market Town in a recent poll by Conutryfile magazine and is perfectly placed for discovering Hadrian's Wall Country (a World Heritage Site). Alnwick is a beautiful traditional old Town, dominated by its Castle (famous for being Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films) and has a thriving events scene with an annual Music Festival and an exceptionally popular Food Festival in September. Berwick is England's most Northerly Town and has over the centuries changed hands between the English and the Scots an incredible 13 times before finally being recaptured by the English in 1482! On top of these wonderful Towns we are lucky enough to have the vibrant City of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne right on our doorstep.
