The County of Northumberland is ideal for the outdoors lifestyle so many of our properties are more than happy to accept well behaved, house trained dogs and often provide little extras like dog bowls, dog towels, leads etc. With so many wonderful walks, glorious beaches and dog friendly pubs and cafes it's easy to see why Northumberland is so popular with dog owners.
Northumberland is great for dogs 
With huge wide open spaces, the least populated County in England is just ideal for a holiday with your dog. None of our beaches have any dog restrictions so they can run around to their heart's content. Add onto that a large number of Country Pubs and cafes that welcome your pets and you've got all the ingredients for a great break.
Northumberland has miles of open, golden beaches and unlike other parts of the UK they are completely dog friendly. There are no restrictions on any of our beaches at any time of year, making the coast the perfect base for a holiday or break with your dog. Along with dog friendly beaches there are a number of Villages where all the pubs allow dogs into the bar as well! Most notable for this are Alnmouth and Warkworth, but in general you'll find the vast majority of our pubs are dog friendly.
As you head inland to the Heart of Northumberland and the Northumberland National Park you find an incredibly inviting landscape, perfect for long walks with the dogs. It's not just the pubs and cafes that welcome pets, a large percentage of our Cottages are perfectly geared up to receive the extended members of the family! All of the properties listed below are pet friendly and offer a warm welcome to our four legged friends. Most will also provide additional items such as feeding and water bowls, dog treats, maybe a spare lead incase yours get lost or broken and towels to dry them down when the weather's not too good.
